Best current guides on setting up a personal private server?
If you're interested in learning, start by learning to compile and setup one of the emulators that work with the original clients (not classic): CMangos for vanilla/tbc, TrinityCore or Azerothcore for WoTLK, each website has instructions for setting up their code, by doing so you'll also learn what capabilities they have.

Problem compiling cmangos - internal compiler error
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Not sure if this is the best place to ask, hopefully someone can help. I couldn't find any existing ebuilds in third party overlays for this so I'm attempting to compile classic cmangos from source here: https://github.com/cmangos/mangos-classic
