I need help
Alternatively, because Elite doesn't bother to tell you why, download and use a program called EDDI. It will tell you why you aren't able to dock. If it's purely betno pads are available, just wait. It will tell you if the size requirements aren't right either.

Exploration: what to scan?
If you are exploring in the black, mapping new systems, you would also need to run something like EDDI or EDDLite configured to send data to ESDM.net for the best experience.
-
ICARUS Terminal now shows biological, geological and other signal sources
It is still best to use something like EDDI or EDDLite to send data EDSM but ICARUS Terminal will blend that data with your local scan data to provide real time updates to a second screen as you explore when using a Discovery Scanner, Full Spectrum Scanner or Surface Scanner.

Is there an EDMC (or similar) plugin that can send triggers to Joystick Gremlin?
This. Voice Attack + EDDI integration can do it:

Hey, brand new commander here: I've heard it's dangerous to go to the Sol system, why is that?
GitHub link for EDDI. I love this program. It's my COVAS on steroids and is customizable to the extreme. Official Forum link for EDDI

I better not need to farm Horizons materials ever again...

[Elite Dangerous] How to detect if something is already on?
EDDI as a plugin for VA which gives you access to loads of variables and statuses within VA to build commands with. For example {BOOL:Status lights on} would tell you if vehicle lights are on or off. (Note it should automatically start as plugin with VA, it can be started standalone but it's very talkative by default and will conflict with VA).

Guys I was using one of those third party websites to find and sell void oples but when I went to sell the value was 150k but the site showed 450k why could this be ?
One such software is the Elite Dangerous Data Interface (EDCD/EDDI). There are others too like the EDMC. Once configured. EDDI integrates data with several different 3rd-party resources such as EDDB, EDSM, EDDN, VoiceAttack and others.

what do you think about portals or wormholes in elite?
You have EDScout, that see if your current route have been submited to EDDB. Don't know if keep working.
-
What do you use to enhance your experience?
I can’t believe no one has mentioned ED Scout yet. It’s an incredibly helpful tool for exploration. Here is a short review video of the tool.

Fighter jets show the direction the plane is travelling on the HUD, would this be a useful feature in E:D (especially low-altitude flying)?

Simple question
Pretty sure edscout may have something you are looking for. It tells you the value and some quick info about planets
-
Got my Cobra and 750k. Reckon I'm good to go exploring now.
just pick up a detailed surface scanner and fuel scoop then you're set, ED Scout is something worth considering too.
-
Is it worth doing the scans?
If you are on PC, there is a 3rd party tool that really helps with this called ED Scout. It will tell you the approximate value of a planet before you surface scan it so you don't waste your time scanning worthless planets. It's really great. Here is an EXAMPLE of a system in ED Scout that I scanned recently. The list of planets at the top are "high value targets" that the tool recommended I scan. The list of planets below that are the ones I actually scanned. You can download the tool and learn more HERE.
-
This system I scanned came to a value of over 8 mil! Now is a really good time to turn it in with the current CG bonus of x3 value to exploration data.
The app is a bit flakey and stops working pretty regularly. To fix this, just close it, and then relaunch it. You can get it HERE.

Exploring Credits
ED Scout is much more compact and less featured, but has the ability to display output to a tablet or phone, in case you don't have a second monitor. https://github.com/joncage/ed-scout
