Advent of Code is my favorite, and also fairly unique. Instead of submitting your code, you just have to submit a (usually numeric) corresponding to the particular input that you've been supplied. The problems start small, similar to starter-level coding challenge problems, but they tend to get more complex in a software-engineering sense, not just an algorithmic one. Each problem comes in two parts, and the second part is frequently a sort of twist on the first part that requires you to reorganize and refactor your part 1 solution.

Every year, I like to teach myself a new language by working through the Advent of Code problems. This year, I wanted to dive into typescript. I've written a fair amount of JS before, and I like having explicit typechecking in my code, so TS felt like a good fit.
