Lolz, this whole SAF is a mess, having to use cursors to access list of files, what! I only have experience with java File APIs and even that are a mess, can't even reliably check the file type of a file. I got fed up and ported libcore/ojluni and implemented core stuff myself to fix the shit. And yeah, these fragmented Android policies are annoying and making my head hurt, you can never be sure of anything!

Restriction on Android/data is not related to scoped storage, it's just introduced on Android 11, app's can't access private app directories of other apps. Check here. Creating another app should work if it targets sdk <=29 and requests permission using SAF. u/joaomgcd maybe TaskerSettings can be used since can't be done for Tasker post ~nov. Although, don't know if android 12 allows the workaround for lower targetsdks and not sure how how tasker would handle that internally, probably require some general API between apps.

The Termux:Tasker plugin and RUN_COMMAND intent both support running background tasks. The notification will show while the tasks run (to reduce chances of android from killing termux) but will automatically go away if no termux sessions are running when all background tasks finish.

The Termux v0.112 is finally out on F-Droid after some build troubles. The Termux v0.108 was the last one released on F-Droid on 2021-02-24. After this v0.109 was released only on Github, which included a lot of major updates to the app, a lot of stuff was added, bugs removed (and added ;)), etc. But mostly it was about a major internal refactor of the Termux app source code since it had gotten to be a mess over the years. The v0.110 to v0.112 were mainly just about minor fixes to bugs that v0.109 brought. Note that F-Droid skipped couple of versions and jumped from v0.108 to v0.111, but you should just install the latest v0.112.
  • Problem updating Termux
    reddit.com/r/termux | 2021-04-25
The v.109 was released only 12 days ago and it wasn't released on F-Droid cause of build troubles. However, v0.112 has already been built successfully yesterday and should probably be available tomorrow in the next deploy cycle. And you don't need to build yourself, you can use debug builds.

Use Tasker app. Create a Variable Set profile for %CLIP variable. In entry task you can call termux with RUN_COMMAND Intent or Termux:Tasker plugin.

  • [NOOB] Why do we need TermuxCommand and can't simply use Run Shell Command for everything?
    reddit.com/r/tasker | 2021-04-11
Termux has a highly complicated build system hosted at termux-packages to compile packages for it. Moreover, there are android 10 restrictions which currently don't apply to termux since it's targeting android 9 (sdk 28) but apply to tasker since its targeting android 10 (sdk 29), which would break current termux completely. There are solutions for it like the android-10 branch of termux-app that can be used by tasker for itself for basic usage.
