Feedback has been good. If you want to help, you could make bindings for your favourite programming language. I tried to document the protocol as best as I could, but if something isn't clear, you can look at the python bindings. You only need a few things for the protocol: - open a unix server socket in the abstract linux namespace and accept connections. - read a 4 byte big-endian integer. - handle JSON.4 projects | reddit.com/r/termux | 22 Nov 2021
If you want to give it a try, you have to install the plugin, then the python bindings. After that you can run the script. To use the plugin you need the Termux release from Github though, so you would need to uninstall the f-droid version. Maybe give it a try on an emulator or an old phone.

I'm developing a Termux plugin and some features only work on newer Android versions, because on lower versions Android itself doesn't support them. Now I want to know if it's even worth implementing them. If the majority of users don't have the required versions, implementing the feature doesn't make sense.

There is an apk on github, but it is only compatible with the Termux builds from github actions, so you would have to completely uninstall the f-droid version first.
