  • Websocket client will not connect

    I have a client and a server project meant to communicate via websocket. I can communicate with my server via this websocket demo by connecting to localhost and the correct port, but when I try to do it from scratch, even when copying the same code from this project, my client always connects and then instantly disconnects with the "connection_error" signal. I'm missing something, because my code works fine in that project too, but not in projects I create myself. What am I doing wrong?

    I tried to connect to my server using someone else's project which just contains a client script, found here (thanks dirkk0,) and it was able to connect just fine. I even pasted my own code into dirkk0's project and it still worked - so I don't think the problem is with my code. However, neither script would work in my client. Is there something I need to do to make the project able to connect? Should I just try starting over?
