    Und das zusammen mit Fava.
  • Help, tenere traccia degli investimenti su Excel o su un'app?
  • What apps do you use to track your investments?
I use beancount and fava for net worth balance sheet, income statement and expenses tracking. I built a dashboard on top of Google Sheets which is fed with data from beancount.
  • What software do you use to keep track of your finances?
In the same vein, I would recommend the software I use, Beancount. It's pretty similar to hledger, but has the added bonus of Fava, which is a really nice web interface for it.
  • Self-hosted software to track monthly income and payments and so on
I'm a fan of ledger-cli, but if you're looking for something similar with a nice interface, maybe beancount + fava: https://beancount.github.io/fava/
  • How hard would it be to build a cloud-based accounting software like Quickbooks Online? (non-coder asking, serious question)

It's probably not worth it to reinvent the wheel. You might want to take a look at using an open source accounting package. I personally use Beancount, which is a mature accounting system that uses text files. Fava is an excellent web front end for Beancount. There is a demo link on the Fava github page to get a feel for it's features.
  • Using beancount for couples household finance?
We live together so there are many expenses we share (e.g. groceries on one of our credit cards). In this case, it would be really nice to have a breakdown of expense accounts in which it is apparent how much money was contributed to it from each account. Has anyone devised a way to generate a report like this? Bonus points if it can be visualized in fava or others. I know there is a tutorial in the Docs, but that seems more for settling split expenses after a discrete event. We're more interested in just keeping tabs on who (Or which account) is paying for what over time so we can have a conversation about it in the first place.
  • How do you track your on hand inventory and value of each item?
    reddit.com/r/Flipping | 2021-04-14
The unofficial front-end is called fava. Here's a server that demonstrates its capabilities: https://fava.pythonanywhere.com/example-beancount-file/balance_sheet/
  • Sign of Net Profit and Income?
The invert-income-liabilities-equity option was added to fava recently to swap the sign for those who find that more intuitive.
  • How hard would it be to program a bookkeeping/accounting program for a beginner?
Could also check out beancount + fava and try extending that functionality with your own scripts.
  • One Lot per tx or how to handle cost basis for crypto trading with ledger CLI?
For me, the benefits of good inventory management, the amazing front-end that is Fava, beancount-import's approach to interactive data importing, and the ability to easily write custom Python code over my records are Beancount's killer features. I can deal with a lot of other annoyances to reap those benefits.
  • Budgeting with Tight income and focus on open source options
in the open source world you may want to give a try to the various text-based budgeting software, beancount plus the web UI fava is a pretty good option if you're into that sort of thing.
  • CSV importer survey - what do you use?
But regardless, I'm using beancount-import (is semi-manual but does some predictions on accounts you used before, matching/merging, and I created some scripts to specific custom csv's. This handles pretty much anything you can download with finance-dl), finance-dl to download data (paypal, amazon but there's more it can download from) and fava for a nice gui. Also wrote a scripts to grab table data from pdf's to transfer it to a csv, and a script that when I download monthly bank statements it cleans up the data and adds it to my main csv file.
