The first thing you'll want to do is set up Git. Git is the version control system that runs behind the scenes of any GitHub project-- it's what allows you to collaborate with others, go back to previous versions of your project, and view changes made by different members of your team. You may want to use Git from a command-line, but in the beginning, it might be easier to use the GitHub Desktop client.
  • How to update github on change?
Use GitHub desktop. If you're on macOS or Windows, you can use GitHub desktop, which is GitHub's GUI for git. This may be easier than using git if you don't know how to use a terminal. https://desktop.github.com/

  • How to upload more than 100 files to GitHub?
I want to share my VSC project on GitHub so I can get feedback on it, but I'm getting 'Yowza, that’s a lot of files. Try again with fewer than 100 files'. The project is currently 192 files in 74 folders. What is the simplest and easiest way to do that please? Should I download and install GitHub desktop? I really don't have the time or patience to learn a whole bunch of new stuff to do this right now, as I have coursework due in the next few weeks, and it has already taken far longer than planned. TIA.

  • Is there a GUI that'll allow me to easily switch between different Github profiles?
    reddit.com/r/git | 2021-03-28
I like the simplicity of Github Desktop but unfortunately it doesn't allow me to easily switch to different Github accounts and it doesn't look like the feature will ever exist. Sublime Merge doesn't do that either.
