This one I debated on including because it deviates from stock, but there's more documentation on using Marlin then there is for the stock elegoo firmware at this point so I think it's smart: flash your printer with Marlin. When people talk about Marlin around here they are talking about a version compiled by /u/just-trey like a year ago that is configured for Neptune 2/2S/2D. All the instructions for loading it onto your printer are on there. It is very stable and works very well. As I said, there is more support available online for Marlin than for stock Elegoo firmware. You also get great features like mesh bed leveling (with or without probe), custom preheat based on filament type, several more software-level protections from hardware malfunctions, an initial touchscreen calibration process that fixed all of my personal touchscreen woes, and many more features that I can't list. You cannot use the MKS wi-fi chip with this release but besides that this is an actual "upgrade" with very few downsides. One of the only things recommended by this community that I back wholeheartedly.
