  • Home Assistant

:house_with_garden: Open source home automation that puts local control and privacy first.

  • Someone else did say it too and I wouldn't have as much experience with it but Home Assistant is another option. I didn't like it because it ships with it's own Raspberry Pi image which is dedicated to just running Home Assistant, not as easy to just go in and create a script/mess around with Linux file system. OpenHab on other hand is a package which you install onto Raspbian. Id say Home Assistant is a bit less tailored to the DIY people but still has lot of customisable features.

  • openhab-addons

    Add-ons for openHAB

  • Going to throw OpenHab suggestion in here, it is an open source software which can be used as a home management system. I have run it on a Raspberry Pi that acts as the hub but if you want to just give it a go first you can install it on windows/mac OS.
