  • koreader

An ebook reader application supporting PDF, DjVu, EPUB, FB2 and many more formats, running on Cervantes, Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook and Android devices

  • I don't use an e-reader, so take it with a grain of salt, but from what I've heard/read: you could use a kindle, but it doesn't support all file formats. It should however normally be possible to convert epub to mobi with calibre. The cheaper version of kindle has ads, but they are removable (afaik). There are also Kobo ereaders. Idk much about them, but here's a relevant post https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/yaqltv/warning_about_kobo_ebook_readers/ From a while ago pointing out potential issues. It's worth noting that theres at least one alternative OS for certain e-readers that you might be able to use, depending on your device (to eliminate certain issues and restrictions). Haven't looked into it, but it's probably more open than whatever was pre installed. https://github.com/koreader/koreader

  • calibre

  • Our pretty-reliable solution involves KOBO readers - using CALIBRE on a PC to catalogue/sort the files downloaded from Z Library via TOR
