okay, and what are the devs of linux supposed to do? port proprietary software for each and every company? you have KDE which is basically making an entire suite of programs for linux to try give people an incentive to try it. and just like people, people won't switch unless the option is present. it's the whole psVita thing. linux devs do basically all they can to support programs being on linux, and with flatpaks/appimages, which is basically linux's version of an .exe or .msi, there is very little to reason devs can't support linux (you can browse some apps on flathub here or read how devs publish the app here). note how chrome, firefox, discord, spotify, telegram, steam, zoom, signal, and MINECRAFT are all published by their respective companies to flathub.

Here you can see, that more than half of the games with anti cheat work. Issues are relatively rare. If you go to protondb top 1000 again, you can see that only 17% of games are Bronze or Silver, which means that there are some issues. That could be missing cutscenes or something like that. Many of those issues can easily be fixed by using Proton-GE, which adds the codecs that are necessary to play those cutscenes.
