For texting use Signal https://signal.org/download/ - it's basically an improved Whatsapp that does not spy on you by and is not owned by Facebook. Signal is developed by a non-profit org who's sole purpose is to ensure private communication. Don't be fooled by others telling you to use Telegram - it has the same issues all Facebook services have; it's not private by default and it's just a matter of time before they either get compromised and all your private messages are now public or Facbook/Google buy them out and now your private messages are owned by them. Signal doesn't have this problem as they do not store (and cannot see) any of your message.
Twitter: use a mastodon instance: mastodon.social is the biggest, although the nice thing about federation is you can pick any instance and browse the "fediverse" - you can look at other mastodon instances here: https://instances.social/
For large group chats, I recommend Element: https://element.io/ - you can think of it as Discord but one that doesn't lock you into its services (it's federated) and also enables End-to-End encryption (like Signal) to ensure your messages stay private.
