I have a dotfiles folder that is synced (using Syncthing) between my devices and regularly backed up (using Kopia). The dotfiles themselves are symlinked from there to my home folder (using stow).

Github via yadm. Works very well.
A repo with dotfiles can be quite helpful, from sharing to being able to recover old changes (I personally keep mine on github ).
I keep them on github and my home directory contains a bare rpoe. I followed a guide to create my repo.
