I know we're in r/Batch, but I'd personally recommend looking at PowerShell for this kind of automation...or, if you shop can afford it, professional imaging software -- like MDT, FOG, SmartDeploy, etc.
It could also be looking into AutoHotKey for some things -- my "inventory collection" utility is a compiled (portable) AHK script; which pulls data from wmic, WinAudit & Belarc Advisor...which definitely saves me time; but isn't great...the correct solution here would be to use an actual inventory system that will probe clients for the information we want...but that costs more than $0, so isn't an option for me.
While you can roll your own solutions, I'd generally advise against it. Depending on what you're doing, FOG, BorgBackup, Veeam and other solutions are probably a better solutions than custom tooling.
Likewise, while rsync is an incredible tool, we're currently just using crontab on each machine individually (and an excel spreadsheet for tracking) scheduling everything...it would be nice if there was a central location to manege everything; but I'm not sure what we would do in this case to fit our budget (ansible or something, maybe?).
While its been a while since we've done so, I'd also recommend looking into CloneZilla. While its a tool for pulling disk images, I've found it quite easy to use and relatively space efficient...plus, its part of the ArchLinux ISO image, which I prefer over CloneZilla's ISO.
