Should I try to learn Rust at this stage?

As for programs you could try to write in Rust, you could take a crack at some Advent of Code problems after reading through a good chunk of the Rust book.

Once you're a bit further along, one thing that I like about Rust is that you can use things like PyO3, interoptopus, godot-rust, etc. to use Rust where it's strong and something else where that's strong within the same codebase.
