I use windows. Does linux tell you you cant name a file with symbols, like slash / or * or : or "?" ? Windows also doesnt like certain blank spaces or blank indentations as part of file names either.

I admit I use a few Unicode characters in my music files, but I know the program that handles them (beets) has good Unicode support. On the opposite side, the music player I use on my phone doesn't handle Unicode characters in tags correctly.
