I'm currently creating a WPF + WPFUI + MVVM Toolkit app and I'm pretty happy with how WPFUI has matured. Still some ways to go but it can be production ready already depending on your app and needs. WPFUI looks quite in line with the Windows 11 UI guidelines and I particulary liked the very neat custom titlebar support in WPFUI where you can place custom controls alongside a title or whatever simply by using the title bar's Header container.
But, going by the Avalonia route, you have the promising FluentAvalonia project for the Windows 11 look & feel. I was a bit overwhelmed by Avalonia when I tried it but especially for cross-platform projects it's of course a solid contender and probably a strong alternative to MAUI.
