  • void-docs

    mdbook source for docs.voidlinux.org

  • As viable as any other distribution. Install Void following the handbook, install your graphics drivers, install steam and the dependencies it asks you to install in the post-install notice, done. I've been fulltime on void for about 2-3 years and I've played plenty of indie and AAA titles, plenty of MMORPGs. Not everything works but that's a Wine thing and not a Void thing and you can check ProtonDB to get a good idea of what's working and what isn't anyway.

  • lutris

    Lutris desktop client

  • I also recommend installing Wine and Lutris from your repositories. https://lutris.net/ has it's own search engine for non-Steam games and applications, and as previously mentioned, will install and set up applications with all of the compatibility tweaks and settings that is needed to run. It's worth checking the comments on there too to see if things are working as intended from that template. Since the templates are user-submitted, sometimes they can become out of date and incompatible. Sometimes you can just tell Lutris to use a newer version of Wine for a certain application and it'll fix the problem, sometimes not.
