  • lutris

    Lutris desktop client

  • Lutris can be best described as an open-sourced gaming platform for Linux that helps Steam-based games, Windows games, DOS games, etc..., be organized and started up in what they call as runners. Each individual Lutris runner starts a different API (Application Progamming Interface) before actually starting your game. For example, the Steam runner will start the Steam client (if not already running) that starts Proton before actually starting your game whereas the Windows runner will start Wine to start your game.

  • LibreOffice

Read-only LibreOffice core repo - no pull request (use gerrit instead https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/) - don't download zip, use https://dev-www.libreoffice.org/bundles/ instead (by LibreOffice)

  • While it maybe be true that Microsoft Office just might not work on Linux right out of the box, as you stated in your post, it just might be possible to get it running with Wine. However, if it seems that MS Office still just doesn't want to play nice with Linux even if ran with Wine, then there are some nice alternatives. One of these such alternatives is LibreOffice, one that I've used before.
