Heck, DXVK includes a lot of inbuilt fixes for buggy games to the point where it's recommended for some older Windows games (eg. Fallout New Vegas, GTA IV, Sims 2) and dgvoodoo2 is considered necessary for old titles even on Windows simply because it allows older games to actually make use of your modern GPU despite the huge changes compared to older GPUs. (A fair amount of the older graphical API features don't actually run directly on modern GPUs due to the hardware changes over time making it a requirement to get somewhat creative to get the same end-result from very old API calls on modern hardware so due to the relatively low performance requirement of older games the GPU vendors tend to go the easier route of emulating those features in software via the driver while dgvoodoo2 instead translates everything to the DX10/11/12 API calls that modern GPUs are built to run.)
