The patch is here. You can easily add it to the proton-ge-custom pkgbuild, which I'm testing now, but I think it should be included automatically in proton-git.
The Steam Controller is harder to fix, because Steam Input is the controller driver. You'll need to use a third-party userland driver called sc-controller to bypass Steam Input and emulate a 360 pad.
