If you have Qt's KDE integration installed, you can also set qt.force_platformtheme to kde to get KDE's file picker which has thumbnails, though. At some point I'd also like to have a custom filepicker (with thumbnails and focused on keyboard usage) inside qutebrowser.
Looks like there's a draft PR already at least: qutebrowser: 1.14.1 -> 2.0.0 by petabyteboy · Pull Request #108272 · NixOS/nixpkgs
FWIW ranger can show image previews, though not thumbnails as far as I'm aware.
How would I make adblock "available" on Windows? I found the python scripts here, but I have no clue where qutebrowser would be looking for these?
I've been using this (patched variant of gtk)[https://github.com/Dudemanguy/gtk], which is okay, but it seems a bit overkill and possibly unwise to use a non-official GTK just for image previews. Writing this, I realize that going the KDE route may indeed be a much cleaner solution.
Just wanna also mention vifmimg for image preview (and many other things) in vifm :)
Works fine for me! Make sure youtube-dl is up-to-date though, they frequently push new releases to keep up with changes on websites.
