Here's a look at the character creator in the upcoming RPG Swords and Sandals Immortals! Godot's powerful UI system made this really intuitive to put together. The gladiators are made with Spriter and I switch out all the body parts just by loading textures.

  • godot_scml_importer

  • I used this SCML importer to import the files from Spriter. It's *fairly straightforward to get up and running but I have run into quirks with it now and again. One of the major issues I had is bones are all on their own Z depths (which makes sense) but it can create issues when one character moves in front of another because you'll find some characters' arms are in front of the others legs and so on.

  • spine-runtimes

2D skeletal animation runtimes for Spine.

  • Thank you for the info. Seems like it would be better to stick to Spine or Godot's native tools. I wish Spine had its official Godot runtimes support done, I know it's in the works though.

  • Hey guys, any idea of how I can get animations like these, they are really smooth, I would like to know if that is cubism or 2d layers gif, and what kind of program or app I can use to get a similar result.
