I feel like the future of web is either going to be built without blockchain in a Matrix like communication network (self-hosted without requiring domain names/hosting like what start9 has done), or be in a blockchain tech like Arweave where nodes don't need to store all blocks which improves scalability. It's not just decentralized but also distributed.

LBRY is an example of a mix of tech. It uses a blockchain to store metadata on content, authors, and currency transactions. And uses a gnutella like network for storing data. But you have to run a full node, so it is a pure peer to peer network, but to grow users and content creators they've created an ultra node with a web frontend called Odyssey. The problem is, this has become more centralized, so they are trying to make it easier for people to basically create and run their own Odyssey's.
