Nah - we're coming-up on the end of the current crypto bubble cycle, and so we're approaching peak hype. It's possible that we do end-up heading towards a decentralised internet - which could be something rad like Tim Berners-Lee's Solid Project, or some dystopian bleakness out of a Neal Stephenson novel with additional layers on the Ethereum network etc - but if we do end-up going down that route it's still a long way off from being useful to the general public, and there's no need to add learning it to your 'to-do' list in the near future unless it's something you're personally very excited about.
I am seeing a trend in the right direction though. Not yet among the mainstream but in niche userbases. Federated and open source social media such as Matrix chat. The LBRY protocol and its current most popular front-end, Odysee. Related to that is the bittorrent protocol, which has been around for while. Monero is the clear champion in the cryptocurrency world for being digital cash and is only getting better as time goes on.

I've been in enterprise IT for 35+ years and I speak from tons of experience that moving to 3rd party platforms like AWS/Azure/Google to run workloads is extremely difficult and high risk. I also do not trade or invest heavily into speculative Crypto like BTC or Ether, but I do believe in distributed storage and layer that improves protections and privacy for all data. Here is an easy example how simple getting an app running using web 3 / layer 2 tech - https://github.com/SkynetLabs/skynet-workshop
