It does run Android but as far as I know, there is no jailbreak for the Gen 2 Quaderno yet. There is a jailbreak for the Gen 1. There is an open source tool to access the device ( https://github.com/janten/dpt-rp1-py ) including FUSE filesystem support, but I've never tried it. If you want a similar device that can install Android apps, you might consider the Quirklogic Papyr, which uses the same hardware as the Gen 1 Quaderno and is rumored to be getting a hardware update soon. But honestly, if you're getting the device intending to run Android apps, Boox would probably be the natural choice.
