  • Proton

Compatibility tool for Steam Play based on Wine and additional components

  • Make sure the Proton binary itself is not on an NTFS partition. You can move the Proton binary to your ext4 partition by using Steam's built in moving tool. Proton doesn't work if the binary itself and the wineprefix is on an NTFS partition. The game files can be on an NTFS partition though no problem. Check this for more information

  • nvidia-all

Nvidia driver latest to 396 series AIO installer

  • Also it's surprising that you have bumblebee packages installed. It's best to use optimus-manager or another graphics switching program to switch between graphics modes (assuming you're on a laptop). With bumblebee, you can't run applications using Vulkan (Which is what Proton uses with DXVK by default) on your dGPU. Another thing I'd recommend is using the DKMS Nvidia drivers ( I'm not sure if they're there on the Manjaro repos anymore, so you can try installing the nvidia driver packages with DKMS using nvidia-all With DKMS, you don't have to worry too much about kernel upgrades since DKMS will just install its modules inside the kernel everytime you upgrade.

  • Since you have an Asus laptop, I'd recommend joining the ROG for Linux Discord Server. You can find it on the website https://asus-linux.org/. Also, there's a lot of information about setting up your laptop properly in that website. I'd recommend using asus-nb-ctrl to switch graphics modes. (I use an Asus Zephyrus G14 and asus-nb-ctrl been the easiest one for me to setup and use)
