A recent PL that adds static typing to the mix is Pony. But is it a one trick pony? Perhaps it bears investigation too, especially to the degree it sheds light on the strengths and weaknesses of bringing static typing into the mix in contrast to Elixir.
There is Gleam now, a simple statically typed language for the BEAM (and Purerl and Hamler and others) but I agree the topic is an interesting one
