If you are not into minimal setups I suggest you KDE plasma + i3 WM, i think it combines the best of both worlds. (https://github.com/heckelson/i3-and-kde-plasma)
In addition to fzf and ripgrep, you can have a look at fd. This is often a faster alternative to find and can be combined with fzf, for example.
