  • Lila

Discontinued ♞ lichess.org: the forever free, adless and open source chess server ♞ [Moved to: https://github.com/lichess-org/lila] (by ornicar)

  • My questions are as follows: 1) In the analysis section, some of the moves are marked as mistakes, inaccuracies and blunders by their respective symbols. Could there be a depiction of views which are good, great and brilliancy moves? 2) Apart from the chess server work, what other hobbies do you have? 3) What is your vision of lichess.org in the next coming years?

  • api

Lichess API documentation and examples (by lichess-org)

  • See other replies for websites that use the Lichess API to provide this service. I think it's cool that there is room for many chess services and websites.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • stockfish.wasm

WebAssembly port of the strong chess engine Stockfish

  • No, thibault doesn't develop stockfish. We use WASM stockfish, which is developed by Niklas, one of the primary lichess devs. However it is technically a completely different project. You can find it here: https://github.com/niklasf/stockfish.wasm The problems database is accessible here: https://database.lichess.org/#puzzles Time odds: https://reddit.com/r/chess/comments/mpasyl/i_started_lichess_ask_me_anything/gu8nz3s/ Not currently possible, not planned to be added App github: https://github.com/veloce/lichobile. You can find all the repositories here: https://github.com/veloce/lichobile

  • fishnet

Distributed Stockfish analysis for lichess.org (by lichess-org)

  • lila-openingexplorer

Opening explorer for lichess.org that can handle all the variants and trillions of unique positions

  • Here is the open issue on Github of it https://github.com/niklasf/lila-openingexplorer/issues/63

  • listudy

    Listudy - chess training server

  • Would you consider merging https://listudy.org into the official website if they allow it? I love the idea of studies, but I'm not that good at memorizing if it's just a noninteractive pgn file, and I like the idea of spaced repetition but listudy doesn't have that many good public studies right now because it's a small website. Anyways, thanks so much for lichess!

  • Plausible Analytics

Simple, open source, lightweight (< 1 KB) and privacy-friendly web analytics alternative to Google Analytics.

  • nandemo asked about geolocation tracking for lichess, maybe you could try https://plausible.io or matamo? Both libre/open source and non-tracking (althought default plausible instance is cloudflare hosted I think).

  • SaaSHub

SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews. SaaSHub helps you find the best software and product alternatives

  • Projects

:page_with_curl: A list of practical projects that anyone can solve in any programming language.

  • For now I'm doing some problems from this repo: https://github.com/karan/Projects

  • lila-ws

    Lichess' websocket server

  • Mainly, handle the websocket connections with a different server: https://github.com/ornicar/lila-ws

  • lichobile

    lichess.org mobile application

  • App github: https://github.com/veloce/lichobile. You can find all the repositories here: https://github.com/veloce/lichobile

  • oddslingers.poker

The Django + React codebase powering the free, open-source poker platform: OddSlingers.com

  • Our poker platform is now open source too, we were inspired by Lichess and ended up following the Lichess model and making it totally free/non-profit :) https://github.com/Monadical-SAS/oddslingers.poker

  • deskml

A a platform for devising desktop applications from web content on 32-bit systems

  • I'm not insulting anybody. I just don't think Thib's open source software achievements rise to "legend" status. Here's the project but I doubt you'll understand it; yeah, that was an insult. Now fuck off. https://github.com/dexygen/deskml
