  • I have a job as c# developer, I worked on hobby projects on linux and windows with asp.net core and never used visual studio since vsCode came out. in some aspects it is even better than the full IDE. also, the installation is easy as it can get. just install the .net core CLI and whatever the official asp.net core website tells you to. they have tutorials for linux. .net core and .net (standard) 5 are cross platform
