I was interested in the question and it looks like this is the source for the passphrase generator. It's looks like it uses "eff_large.wordlist" for the wordslist which is probably based on EFF's dice wordlist.
The security of the generator is coming from gcrypt.h, which comes from the "libgcrypt" library as developed by the GnuPG project. It provides access to three types of random number generators, all of which are cryptographically secure, and set at compile time:
