I fully agree, moreover this:
> Rolling release distributions like OpenSUSE Tumbleweed follow upstream much more closely while still maintaining stability through thorough automated testing
Shows the author hasn't used Tumbleweed for any reasonable amount of time himself[0][1][2]. I daily drove it for a short while before moving to Fedora.

Project mention: NMAP-formatter: convert NMAP results to HTML, CSV, JSON, graphviz (dot), SQLite | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-26https://github.com/nmap/nmap/issues/635
This looks like a reasonable mitigation for the lack of native JSON output.
Project mention: MiniAudio.h: single-file audio playback and capture library for C and C++ | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-01
Allegro (zlib/plain C) https://github.com/liballeg/allegro5
Project mention: what's a good Linux terminal file manager in late 2023? | /r/linux4noobs | 2023-10-27FAR Manager 2
I guessing it needs to be put into a state todo this? The program https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl can query the state of the Game/Chat mix dial. I pretty much just use this dial for Discord, so at minimum I want to have it so using the Game/Chat mix dial changes the volume of the Discord application. Ideal would be having a virtual sound that gets mixed back into the sound output.
Project mention: A while ago I asked how to best avoid grabbing rar'd torrents - now I'm back with an app that automates just that! | /r/trackers | 2023-05-19
Project mention: Apple's new 80% battery limit feature should not be limited to the iPhone 15 | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-10-18That's true. I evaluated it, but it wasn't of use to me as I keep my Macbook plugged in with the lid closed.
I eventually tried this instead :
https://github.com/DevNulPavel/osx_battery_charge_limit
I use it to keep my battery level indicator pegged at 70%. Often doesn't persist after a system update, but it's just a quick terminal command to reapply the setting.
I use my Macbook in clamshell mode, and I use sleep mode when I'm not using it - receiving power from a Thunderbolt dock. It's handy to pick up exactly where I left off on resume. Plus, I use two LG screens where one of the two doesn't switch on after a cold boot, and it's annoying to unplug and replug to activate it. Sleep mode gets around that.
Seem like the old client still get third party update: https://github.com/GrangerHub/tremulous
