Firefox privacy, security and anti-tracking: a comprehensive user.js template for configuration and hardening

  • Resist Fingerprinting has been built into the desktop version of Firefox for a while as an upstream contribution from the Firefox-based Tor Browser, the other big one being First Party Isolation or FPI (cookie isolation). The features are still considered in beta--though they've been in the Tor Browser for years--and need to be enabled manually in advanced settings. There are other such settings from the Tor Uplift project or otherwise hidden that are explained in the comments for the unofficial ghacks community user.js github along with explanations and discussions on various recommended privacy extensions. All the settings they discuss can be enabled manually, you do not need to import their user.js profile.
