Firefox privacy, security and anti-tracking: a comprehensive user.js template for configuration and hardening

  • Privacy Badger is sort of a mish-mash of different services. It does a little bit of a lot of things, doing none of them well IMO. It is does a bit of content blocking like uBO. It does a little bit of GPC identification like Privacy Essentials from DDG and it does a little bit of browser API modification like canvas blocker. In your post, you're mentioning the fingerprint part of Privacy Badger... which is just a modification of the Canvas API output. If you use arkenfox or canvasblocker (with settings set properly), you'll get the same result as the Privacy Badger. It's just a faked output of the Canvas API.

  • Hey, what do you think about amiunique.org? Seems to get fingerprinted even when using Tor Browser with Safest security setting. Of course JS enabled on TLD.
