Shameless self-plug: I've been building a Matrix client for iOS (and eventually macOS) and have been playing around with the idea of integrating a custom message type specifically for sending Nano. Something along the lines of how Apple Pay Cash works for quickly sending money to contacts in iMessage. I haven't thought about it in great detail yet, but what you propose regarding payment requests, verification on the other end and sending payment sounds fantastic. I don't want to get any hopes up, my client Nio is still very much in its alpha phase, but this sounds to useful to pass up.
This sounds super interesting. Have you by any chance heard of Matrix? It's a decentralized, end-to-end encrypted messaging protocol. Cool thing is that it's not necessarily bound to just chat, you can easily create your own message types and send those around securely between users. Account discovery over so called 3PIDs (3rd party identifiers like E-Mail or phone numbers) also already exists.
