One thing that I feel like I have to keep mentioning is that Drew DeVault, the developer of Sway, has stated before numerous times that he does not want to include compositor effects. This isn't the only citation I can find, mind you.
But that doesn't stop anyone from forking it with even more appearance features. Just note that if you want a more flashy Wayland compositor/WM, you might want to look at Hyprland, or something else.
