The only thing that I still have to compile on my own was ly (this fork theorically works out of the box with runit https://github.com/brunorro/ly). I don't know how to package it because it relies on git submodules. If anyone could give me some pointers about that kind of stuff on xbps-source I'll try to pack it (AUR recipes are more chaotic and anarchic but for this kind of stuff that is good)
Many PRs have been opened to add Ly to the repos, they've all been rejected because of the submodule thing and because it's had some severe technical issues. I really don't understand this subreddit's obsession with that specific greeter. If you want something in the repos that provides an almost identical interface, use greetd + tuigreet.
Hey, then, in that case, if you want to play and (have|can spare some cash on) a hard drive just for it, give Holoiso a try. It will save quite a lot of time if we are talking about gaming :) It's got also flatpak apps and it was designed as a console OS, so in my opinion it is the most stable arch-based linux system I've ever used :D
