Yeah. Looking over the GitHub issue you raised about it, they didn't seem to really understand the problem before they closed it.
I've just asked a question about it (same thing, different wording), which might work:

They also have what seems like a bug where they sometimes send the exact same query like 10 times in a row. They also didn't seem to really want to look into it. So now this class exists only as a band-aid to prevent them from eating the entire minute's rate limit in 1-2 requests:
