openpilot
openpilot is an open source driver assistance system. openpilot performs the functions of Automated Lane Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control for 250+ supported car makes and models.
I'm attempting to marge some ideas from https://github.com/Lukilink/openpilot with Nissan leaf... My idea is to use Muxsan CAN bridge to read and modify CAN massages create fake Leaf with Propilot to OpenPilot CAN that I will add to the car. That way I should not have problems with upgrades of OpenPilot. If something can't be done with CAN I will go to a hardware level. Like I'm almost sure I can't turn a steering wheel with CAN massages. I'm planing to go to torque sensors and give steering MCU fake reading to turn a wheel. I think that should work. If not I'm adding a motor... But I'm sure there is a steering wheel sensor, speed data already in a car and have to just read the right massage on a right CANbus. I'm hoping there is some way to change accelerator position and brake too but I can go the same way Leaf Box did it if there is not.
Here is an actively maintained list: https://github.com/dalathegreat/leaf_can_bus_messages
Hi! I started putting some of these and my own into one DBC file: https://github.com/willemcvu/opendbc/blob/master/nissan_leaf_2018.dbc
From what you wrote I'm guessing you are in some way involved in OpenPilot. Am I right? I'm kind of at a loss where to start. I was looking the github and thinking https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/tree/master/selfdrive/car/nissan would be a place to start... But I don't see any Leaf specific CAN msg... So can you point me in a right direction... I need to figure out what are the massages OpenPilot needs from Leaf with Propilot so I can send them over the bus in right format...
