If you were in charge of the FINAL update to Minecraft, what would you do?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/Minecraft

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Geyser

A bridge/proxy allowing you to connect to Minecraft: Java Edition servers with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

  • Java Edition's and Bedrock Edition's protocols are different, but plugins and server-mods exists that allow both java clients and bedrock clients to connect to a same server and play together. For example, https://geysermc.org/ seems to do that (disclaimer, haven't tested it myself).

  • Minetest

Minetest is an open source voxel game-creation platform with easy modding and game creation

  • Yet MineTest exists, which was the world generation rewritten from the ground up and made open source. People can write their own games to go on top of this, and a small team of peeps has basically recreated Minecraft 1-to-1 in MineTest, called MineClone. So probably not as big a task as you perhaps might think.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
