In addition to tabletop simulator, Untap and Cockatrice are both excellent options for playing online. You can use all of these (or even just the test sandbox mode in deck building websites like Moxfield) with OBS to play on Spelltable, allowing you to play digital decks against other people with paper decks.
Suggestion: Go to https://edhrec.com/ and hit the Random button until you find a commander that looks interesting to you. (I would recommend something that is at least a Tier 1.5 and generates some sort of advantage on its own. i.e. [[Chatterfang, Squirrel General]] is loads of fun, but requires a lot of support cards. [[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]] immediately does something for you as soon as it enters the battlefield.)
