  • Best cards for a squirrel deck that I might have missed?
    1 project | /r/magicTCG | 6 Dec 2023
I don't know many off the top of my head because I don't really play much green in commander, but if you look up your commander on edhrec you can see what other people run.

My go tos are usually The Primer Hub on Moxfield, followed by looking up any other decks I would miss via a quick search of edhrec but I am a creature of habit and would love to hear the pros/cons of other available options!
  • How does one 'rank' a deck?

You probably should read up on some staples here and there. Look at edhrec.com and search up your commanders to see what people are playing in them.
  • So I am extremely overwhelmed as a beginner and don't really know where to start

EDHREC is my personal favorite, as it pulls data from decklists from a variety of different sites to give you an idea on what most players are running in their versions of a specific commander build and lets you search for deck themes and color combinations if you don't have a specific commander in mind to build around.

EDH Rec is also a valuable resource focused exclusively on commander, by plugging in cards, it gives breakdowns including high synergy, recent reprints, as well as other options that might work in a deck you choose to build from.

Maybe check out something like EDHRec for Commander or MTGGoldfish for competitive formats like Standard/Modern to see what's being played, and that can perhaps help you narrow things down more.

  • What cards do you consider stables or near-universal plays?

Kinda depends on what format you're playing. For commander (which you imploed) you can check the top cards section on https://edhrec.com/
  • Best way to build a deck
    1 project | /r/MagicArena | 7 Jul 2023
I use EDHREC it’s more helpful for historic brawl and paper players because it’s for paper commander decks. You type in who you’re using as your commander and then the theme of your deck and it brings up all the cards that synergies with it. I’ve made some really strong decks with just this site

If you want a white/blue/green deck, you need a commander that has a white/blue/green (or greater) "color identity". If any of those interest you, you can use resources like EDHRec to help build your decklist. Here is Aragorn the Uniter's page, for example. If you look up "aragorn the uniter deck" on youtube, you'll likely find people's different builds as well. I recommend picking someone's build you like as a starting point, and tweaking it to your liking
