I also run a telegram bot on my Synology NAS. It’s a docker container, and since it doesn’t need inbound connections, there is no network setup involved. The bot I’m running is searcharr and there are instructions in the readme and a docker-compose.yml file that may be helpful if you’re a docker newbie.
I’m using https://fly.io to host a few (non-telegram) bots for free. Those bots run as docker containers. Might be worth a look if you want to run in the cloud.
