qtile
:cookie: A full-featured, hackable tiling window manager written and configured in Python (X11 + Wayland)
Hello 👋, I use Gnome for my ThinkPad it works nice for me. But giving your ram I would suggest a window manager like Qtile which I prefer and I am about move from Gnome to it when I finish my configurations. But if you want something which will be usable out of the box Xfce is a nice choice too as people mentioned above. 😁😁 Here is the link to GitHub for Qtile if you want to give it a glance https://github.com/qtile/qtile

qtile-extras

I have tried to implement the Rect Decoration with the Systray widget. I am having some troubles. The Rect Decoration decor isn't actually filling in the Systray widget. I tried to follow a github issue that was solved here, but have had no success. I will paste what I have in my config below, along with a screenshot. Any help would be amazing!

If you have a laptop and have a multi-monitor setup, for instance, you can react to a monitor (dis)connection and invoke autorandr (or xrandr) to set them up. If you have keyboard(s) with different preferences, you can tune them when they're plugged in. Or maybe a battery warning. Take a look at the examples and you'll see if something inspires your creativity.

Note however that I did find a good solution to it via aiomanhole, which allows me to directly interact with the server process and inspect/traverse the objects there. See this config from one of the qtile maintainers for how to set up aiomanhole.
