I'm not sure I believe we understand our own learning/memory anything like enough for this not to be total pseudoscience? Reminds me of A Beautiful Mind.
I'm using Anki for language learning and a while back I thought about decreasing the amount of time I spend on a card with the add-on Speed Focus Mode. My idea was by decreasing the time spent per card, I'd go through more cards in the same amount of time. I went from 30s per card to 12s for front AND back).
