MP3 DOWNLOAD FORMAT NOT ON POWERTUBE
Now a wild guess on the why of that, it may be because it doesn't use ffmpeg From what i read Powertube is a client for YouTube-dl[1] which is very outdated by now(so much that now there is a fork called youtube-dlp[2] and now it's what people use ) but the thing in those is that they don't donwload things in mp3 they use ffmpeg to convert it so I guess powertube just doesn't have that

Super lightweight portable downloader
yt-dlp (https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) is a fork of a project called youtube-dl (https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl). That project still exists and many people still use it. Although not the original-original "youtube-dl" project GitHub repository, it is considered the current primary master project.

VueTube is a YouTube client in need of Typescript devs
Hi, I was thinking about something for the extractor. (I just recently discovered that technology, so I may say something stupid, please be indulgent) Wouldn't it be possible to compile youtube-dl or yt-dlp in WASM and interface it with Typescript, just like Seal do in Kotlin?

Youtube-dl, the tool that allows people to easily download videos from Youtube with minimal fuss, recently had a new error (caused by a Youtube update) that is preventing people from using it. there are other scripts that can handle it, youtube stream capture is what i've used, but i notice it's gone into read-only mode now, and they recommend ytarchive instead.

One of the youtube-dl developers has new activity on github after almost 3 months of silence
there are some tools that can either grab from beginning so it doesn't matter when you start grabbing it (youtube stream capture or ytarchive) or monitor it and start capturing asap (livestream saver)

Coco is labled "OG" instead of being removed from the official Hololive site.
ytarchive supports downloading streams as they happen live; it's superior over youtube-dl in that it'll pick up the entire stream even if you start late, even if rewinding is disabled. It supports the same --cookies option.
