ytarchive VS youtube_stream_capture

ytarchive is a command-line tool that can monitor a YouTube channel and get the entirety of a stream even if the download starts late. (yt-dlp also supports this with --live-from-start, but it's currently experimental.)

i use ytarchive, it's very reliable.

I use https://github.com/Kethsar/ytarchive for youtube livestream recordings, I find it more reliable than yt-dlp for this use case.

Is there a way I can record Twitch streams from the start even the stream has been running for hours? Something similar to this: https://github.com/Kethsar/ytarchive but for Twitch?

these issues made me switch to a different tool, ytarchive. i've never had an issue with it.

ytarchive is better, easier to work with.

there are other scripts that can handle it, youtube stream capture is what i've used, but i notice it's gone into read-only mode now, and they recommend ytarchive instead.

there are some tools that can either grab from beginning so it doesn't matter when you start grabbing it (youtube stream capture or ytarchive) or monitor it and start capturing asap (livestream saver)

i use youtube_stream_capture to capture the whole thing while live, until the end. it's two python scripts, one to capture, one to merge the files it grabs into a video afterwards.

I actually suggest you use something like youtube_stream_capture ,that adapted to how youtube streams dash nowdays, over fixing the manifest.

well, there is youtube-stream-capture, a two-part script, one to download the pieces, and another to put them together.
