Liberating the MacBook Air 2013 with Linux
FYI: You can enable them in Gnome with Gnome-Tweaks. Apparently a very recent version of Gnome dropped this functionality for reasons that are beyond my understanding (but that's often the case when I look at the decisions that the Gnome devs make).
However, getting the Control -> Command/Super thing to work is much trickier. The best way is to use this: https://github.com/mooz/xkeysnail
However when I tried that, I ran into all kinds of weird behaviours all over the OS. Also, it doesn't work with Wayland.

Everything is gone. EVERYTHING
If the likes of https://github.com/mooz/xkeysnail/issues/43 are still a going concern then it's not quite as "everywhere" as one would like, and I presume that issue is a fundamental one (i.e. it doesn't sound like XKeySnail gets first refusal on key events).

Emacs + a nice theme + editing features is awesome! (plus some questions about extra configuration)
And I use XKeySnail to have the basic Emacs keys everywhere. I'm sure there are others, but it does enough to keep me happy.

Would you still recommend EXWM in 2022?
https://github.com/mooz/xkeysnail or the fork of it, I forget it's name, will allow you to do the same as exwm's simulation keys with any window manager.

GMOME 44 themes
If you like the aesthetics of MacOS, you could try Big Sur Theme. In the repo there are instructions on how to apply the theme into gtk3 and gtk4 apps and also on libadwaita apps.
- It's normal to don't have any background image on lock screen when turn on the system or log out the profile?

GNOME 44
I have written https://taoofmac.com for the last 20 years, and have spent the last year progressively using GNOME and Fedora more and more.
I use the WhiteSur GTK theme (https://github.com/vinceliuice/WhiteSur-gtk-theme) so that I don't have to decipher the nuances of the standard GNOME iconography (some of it is... well, not as pretty, and definitely not as intuitive).
I love this setup, but if GNOME decides to keep breaking user themes, I will have to look elsewhere (most likely a different Fedora spin, although definitely not KDE).

Uniform look gtk qt applications
Thank you, I am looking for stylepak. Moreover I corrected the spelling error in the post! with "--flatpak" option I was referring to the Readme of the WhiteSur gtk theme, but actually looking into the install.sh there is no option for it.
